Classes and Speaking

Barbara currently teaches two private workshops.

Throughout the year, she teaches a "Jumpstart Your Writing" online class through Gotham Writers' Workshop. No matter where in the world you live, you can work with Barbara. Visit Gotham's Web site for more information on the class and how to sign up.

Privately, in her studio in Corona del Mar, she has two workshops. The Writers' Block Party is a critique group that meets bi-weekly on Thursday nights. Occasionally there is an opening for an advanced fiction or memoir/essay writer, so ask!

The other is called the Literary Posse for writers at various levels. Classes include exercises, optional assignments and critique. This workshop is geared to get you in motion and get you writing what you are meant to write.

Both are ten-week workshops and each costs $350 for one ten-meeting session.

Barbara mentors writers privately, consults with clients on book proposals, and critiques ongoing writing projects, both fiction and nonfiction.

She also speaks to groups, moderates and sits on panels at author events, and visits book clubs/reading groups in person, on Skype or on the phone, and via e-mail.
